New Delhi, November 30

The prompt action of police led to the recovery of four-year old missing child, Dev Shankar, alias Golu, within three hours of reporting a complaint.

The police said that on November 29, one Gopal of Hauz Rani, Malviya Nagar, reported a complaint of his missing son to Malviya Nagar police.

In the complaint, he stated that his son was playing in the Delhi Jal Board ground near his house at about 2 pm. As he left for work, his wife noticed that their son was not present in the park. The couple tried to locate him in all places, but in vain.

In order to trace the missing child, the South Delhi Police constituted 12 teams which conducted search operations at all the temples, mosques, schools, parks, etc. A wireless message was also flashed to inform all the police stations.

One of the police teams got information that a child with the same description was seen with one Kamal at the roundabout of Malviya Nagar.

Kamal, who works as a cleaner in a bus, was traced to near Begumpur Masjid. He told police that he had found the boy roaming alone at Malviya Nagar roundabout and as the boy was not able to tell his address, he was trying to get him identified.
