BJP leader and former chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Wool Federation Tirlok Kapoor urged the Centre to provide adequate budget for the tribal areas of the state.
He said the Union Government had not sanctioned budget for tribal areas which were granted the tribal status by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government in 2003.
Kapoor called on Union Health Minister Jagat Parkash Nadda yesterday in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum to this effect. He urged Nadda to take up the case with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He also urged Nadda to set up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences in the state.
He also sought additional budget for the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in the state.
