Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said today that knowledge should be utilised in the right direction and pointed out that Maoists and terrorists in spite of being educated were using their knowledge in the wrong direction.

“There’s need to inculcate values among students rather than preparing them as ‘industrial products’. The teachers must ensure that children do not become victims of inferiority complex in this age of competition,” he said at a programme organised to mark 100 years of the Hindu Educational and Charitable Society here.

“A man is known, not by his post, but by his doings,” Rajanth said, adding that educational institutions should impart knowledge with values. “Knowledge linked with values results in welfare-oriented society.”

Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said the country’s future was safe in the hands of leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajnath. “The country will achieve new heights under their leadership.”

Social Welfare Minister Kavita Jain praised the services rendered by the charitable society in education and charity. “The Hindu Educational and Charitable Society, which started with five students 100 years ago, caters to 22,000 students enrolled in 16 institutions of the society,” she said.
