Mystery shrouds industrialist’s disappearance

Anil Sood, a leading industrialist and two-time former president, Nagar Council, disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

The Machiwara Police had registered a case of abduction on the complaint of Vijay Sood, brother of Anil Sood.

As per the statement, Vijay said his brother left his rice mill at 5 pm and said he was going to the nearby Bhattian village at his Solvex plant. But he did not reach there. After some time, they became suspicious and started searching for him but he could not be spotted till late night. However, his mobile phone was lying at the rice mill.

In the morning, the family received a call from the Morinda Police that they had recovered a car near the banks of Bhakra Canal near Khant Manpur village. The car belonged to Anil Sood.

Vijay Sood expressed the fear that his brother might have been abducted by some unknown persons.

Machiwara SHO Darshan Singh confirmed that a case of abduction had been registered. They were working on different theories to trace the missing person.

He said they had recovered the I-20 car (bearing registration number PB-43D-0210) belonging to Anil Sood from the canal side. The car was open and the keys were in the vehicle.
