An industrial tour ‘Meri Jaan Hindustan’ organised by Romeo Force of the Indian Army was flagged in at Lowe Krishna Ghati in Poonch.
The tour was aimed at giving exposure to 20 unemployed youths and three teachers of far-flung areas of Poonch district for an ‘Industrial-cum-motivational tour’ to Jammu, Ludhiana, Bikaner and Sriganganagar.
The event was attended by ADC Poonch, Mumtaz Choudhary and Additional SP (Operations) Poonch Amit Gupta, who welcomed and received the young participants and the accompanying teachers. A large number of civil dignitaries and locals, including parents, were present during the ceremony.
During the 10-day tour, the youths visited various places of academic, industrial and tourist interest. They visited Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum, Punjab Agricultural University, Hummel Synthetics & Nagri Knitwear Company at Ludhiana and in Bikaner & Sriganganagar visited mustard and cotton farming centre, animal husbandry institute, ITI and Surendra Dental College, Fab India Factory, Cottage Handicraft and Pottery Industries, Junagarh Fort, Lalgarh Palace and Museum.
The youths also witnessed modern agro and institutional developments taking place in other parts of the country.
The participants and their teachers thanked the Indian Army for the excursion and for contributing immensely towards grooming of the youth for the future.
