Karnal, December 19
To encourage the farmers to adopt organic farming, the Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence for Vegetables, organised a two-day fair which was inaugurated by Harvinder Kalyan, MLA, Gharaunda, here today.
Kalyan appealed to the farmers to take to organic farming for better results as it eradicates diseases associated with the excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides.
Such events help the farmers for keeping abreast of new farm techniques to improve the quality of the produce and also increase its productivity, he added.
They have received 2500 entries in different categories of vegetables from not only Haryana but Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh also, he said. — TNS
