BJP to prefer ex-servicemen for women security

The BJP today said if it is voted to power in Delhi, it would give a preference to ex-servicemen in providing security to women.

The BJP today said if it is voted to power in Delhi, it would give a preference to ex-servicemen in providing security to women.

Talking to a delegation of ex-servicemen and schoolteachers, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said after coming to power, the party will consider such a system in which the ex-servicemen are given priority in the works connected with the security of women, schools, colleges, hospitals, etc.

During the discussion with ex-servicemen, four points-employment, working out their housing problems, insurance cover, and taxi service-emerged on which the Delhi BJP assured that the party would not only include them in its manifesto, but also work on them.

Expressing concerns over the present state of education, the teachers' delegation said former governments are responsible for its falling standards. They gave the following suggestions for the BJP's manifesto: immediate filling of vacant posts of teachers in government schools and that the schools should be run in two shifts so that the maximum number of students get admission.

Upadhyay assured the teachers that the BJP itself is committed to having two shifts as well as providing laboratories and computer system in schools.
