New Delhi, December 13
Giving a week's ultimatum for apology, the AAP today served a legal notice to the general secretary of the Delhi BJP unit and south Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri and party spokesperson Ashwini Upadhyay in connection with allegations levelled against the AAP regarding the its funding sources.
Recently Bidhuri had questioned the AAP's funding alleging that money is the result of party's fund raising events or diversion of funds of NGOs belonging to AAP leaders. Following which the Delhi BJP had demanded a probe into the matter.
The AAP challenged the BJP to reveal its sources of funds. "There have been false, defamatory and malicious allegations made against the AAP, questioning sources of party funding. Instead, the AAP is the only recognised political party in the country which believes in transparent political funding and all its donations and their sources are in public domain," a party statement said.
