CHANDIGARH: Vivek High Asian Cricket Academy beat Royal Cricket Academy by 11 runs in the opening match of the (U-16) First Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament 2014 at Vivek High School in Sector 38B here today.

Vivek High Asian Cricket Academy beat Royal Cricket Academy by 11 runs in the opening match of the (U-16) First Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament 2014 at Vivek High School in Sector 38B here today.

Winning the toss, the academy elected to bat first and scored a total of 51 runs for 5 in the allotted 8 overs. Karan (26 runs) and Ishaan (21 runs) were the noticeable scorers for the team. For bowling, Sudhir claimed 2 wickets for 13 runs while Pardeep claimed 2 wickets for 15 runs.

In reply, Royal Cricket Academy scored 40 runs for 6 in 8 overs.

Vishal scored 19 runs while Summet Sharma scored 11 runs.

For bowling, Vivek scalped 3 wickets for 5 runs and Ankur scalped 2 wickets for 13 runs. Vivek from the winning team was awarded the man of the match trophy for claiming 3 wickets.

In the second match, hosts Vivek High School, Sector 38, defeated Khalsa Cricket Club by three runs.

Batting first, Vivek High School scored 44 runs for 6 wickets in 8 overs. Angad scored 22 runs while Deepanshu scored 18 runs.

In reply, Khalsa Cricket Club scored 41 runs for 7 in allotted 8 overs. For bowling, Abhinav scalped 3 wickets for 7 runs while Adish claimed 2 wickets for 17 runs. Abhinav from Vivek High School was adjudged the man of the match for claiming 3 wickets.
