A ‘March for Justice and Peace’ was organised here last evening by various Hindu organisations under the banner of the Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Sena. They sought justice for the people killed in the state during militancy.

The march started from Kanak Mandi Chowk. It passed through Partap Chowk and Kashmiri Bazaar and concluded at Ghantaghar Chowk. The protesters included family members of local residents who had lost their lives during the period.

Ashutosh Sharma, president of the sena, said no one had bothered to take care of the affected families. “Politicians make false promises at the time of elections. The issue has found place in poll manifestoes of many parties but nothing concrete has been done for their welfare,” said the president.

At Ghantaghar Chowk, Advisor to the CM Tikshan Sud received the march and assured the affected families that he would take up the cause with the government.
