Teachers of government primary schools today demanded that the state government should confirm their seniority list so that Junior Basic Teachers (JBT) could be promoted to head teachers (HT) and then to central head teachers (CHT).
Gurcharan Singh Bedi, district president, Government Primary Teachers’ Federation, said the issue was raised during his meeting with teachers of this block. He said teachers demanded that Assistant Block Primary Education Officers be appointed so that the benefit of education reached every village child.
Kamal Jeet, block president of the federation, asked the state government to come forward to working out the financial disparity Junior Basic Teachers were facing under the 4-9-14 service rules. He said such teachers were put to a huge financial loss.
