Mussoorie, December 15

Prayers and a skit highlighting the life of Lord Jesus marked the beginning of Christmas season in Mussoorie. Prayers were held at the Central Methodist Church in Kulri Bazaar yesterday.

Pastor Nand Kishore offered special prayers on the occasion and blessed the devotees. A skit highlighting the advent of Jesus Christ was performed by the tiny-tots on the occasion.

Pastor Kishore said the special prayers were part of the advent season, a period preceding the Christmas season.

“The Latin word, advent, means ‘the coming’. For centuries, advent has been a time of spiritual reflection as well as cheer and anticipation,” said Pastor Kishore.

The Central Methodist church was decorated with colourful candles and ornamental lights.

The devotees prayed for peace and prosperity for all on the occasion.
