EO questioned on house rent allowance

Panchkula Executive Officer SK Chauhan has been accused of taking the house rent allowance for the past four months despite allegedly staying in the quarters of the Municipal Corporation. 

The matter was raised in the House meeting today following which Mayor Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia questioned the EO.

In his reply, Chauhan said he stopped taking the allowance from the MC on November 28 when he got the quarter.

Sources said he was staying in the quarters of the Water Works in the Industrial Area Phase I. 

“This issue was deliberately raised as they are pressuring me to compromise with councillor Ravi Kant Swami. I stopped taking the allowance from November 28 itself,” said Chauhan.
