Chamba, December 16
Two out checkposts (OCPs) of security forces have been shifted from high-altitude locations to low-lying places with immediate effect owing to heavy snowfall on the mountain ranges of the inter-state borderline of Chamba district adjacent to Jammu and Kashmir.
Giving this information here today, Superintendent of Police, Chamba, DK Chaudhary said the OCP Bhanodi Dhar had been shifted to Alwas and the OCP Nodal Dhar to Mansa in the Tissa border sector of the district.
The SP, however, said there was no let-up in the surveillance of security arrangements and the jawans of the security forces were on their toes checking any infiltration and spill over of terrorist activities from across the boundary.
DK Chaudhary said security forces were keeping strict vigilance round-the-clock on the inter-state boundary with J&K stretching for about 215 km.
“The villagers of Chachool, Sanwal, Kandolu, Makkan, Bruilla, Dehgran, among other areas, are satisfied with the security arrangements in their areas.
They have expressed their trust and faith in the working of the concerned OCPs, special police officers and the police stations,” the Superintendent of Police said, appealing to the villagers to be active and willing to keep constant cooperation with the police.
The police personnel were also asked to work hard to win and maintain trust of villagers.
