‘CBI should question Mamata’

CPM national general secretary Prakash Karat today demanded that the CBI quiz West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the infamous Sharada chit fund scam.

Shimla, December 16

CPM national general secretary Prakash Karat today demanded that the CBI quiz West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the infamous Sharada chit fund scam. He said he had kept his option open whether or not to join the Janata Parivar, a merger of the “like-minded” parties to counter Prime Minister Narendra Modi led pro-BJP tornado in the country. Karat was here to address a party rally prior to three-day state-level CPM convention.

The BJP and Congress, including Mamata Banerjee’s TMC, have been brought on a single platform in West Bengal to oust the CPM as it was a larger political design executed by the capitalists from USA, Karat told the party workers during his address earlier.— TNS
