 Amritsar, December 1

With an aim to recognise the selfless service of ex-servicemen, ‘veer naris’ and their families towards the nation, an ex-servicemen rally will be organised by the Panther Division under the aegis of Vajra Corps (Defenders of Punjab) at the New Amritsar Military Station on December 7.

The spokesman of the Army in a statement issued here today said it was an attempt to reach out to the ex-servicemen settled in far flung areas, besides spreading awareness about various welfare schemes being launched by the Army as well as the government.

He said this was an opportunity to provide a combined platform to all ex-servicemen and their families so as to address their grievances and make them aware about various welfare schemes.  The primary focus of the rally is to resolve grievances of ex-servicemen, which are generally neglected due to lack of communication and infrastructure in far flung areas, he added. — TNS
