LUDHIANA: Hosts Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, scripted victories in the boys as well as girls sections on the opening day of the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (Central Zone) Basketball Tournament (U-14) today.

Ludhiana, December 22

Hosts Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, scripted victories in the boys as well as girls sections on the opening day of the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (Central Zone) Basketball Tournament (U-14) today.

In the boys’ section, Green Land Convent School outnumbered Saraswati Model Public School in which Karan played the pivot role with 18 baskets while the hosts came out triumphant against Saraswati Model Public School in the girls’ section with the main contributions coming through Mehak and Rukhsar who dropped in two baskets each. In other matches (boys), Delhi Public School beat Jesus Sacred School; DCM Presidency School defeated Kundan Vidya Mandir; DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road outplayed GMT Public School; BCM Arya Model Senior School outplayed Guru Nanak International Public School and Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar outclassed Green Land Convent School, Dugri.

In the girls’ section, BCM Arya Model School got the better of Guru Nanak International Public School and Delhi Public School beat DCM Presidency School.

Rajesh Rudhra, chairman, chain of Green Land School, declared the tournament open in which 24 teams are participating. Jyoti Pujara, principal of the host school, welcomed the chief guest.
