Woman murdered in Nalagarh

A 27-year-old woman, Veerbati, alias Vatta, was found murdered at her hired accommodation in Ward No. 1 of Nalagarh town this morning.

DSP, Nalagarh, Khajana Ram said the deceased, who hailed from the Muradabad area (UP), had been residing with her husband Rajesh in a rented room for the past month. Rajesh informed his co-tenant Shobha this morning that she should ask Varsha to come out of the room.

But when Shobha did not get any response from Varsha after knocking the door, she informed people residing nearby who further informed the police. A police party, led by DSP Khajana Ram, found her blood-soaked body lying inside the room while Rajesh had fled. The two had an altercation over some issue last evening after which Rajesh attacked Varsha with some weapon which left her grievously wounded.

A case under Section 302, IPC, has been registered and a hunt is on to trace Rajesh.
