Jalandhar, December 19

After over a year of trial in a murder case, the main complainant who was father of the accused today turned hostile in the court hence the murder accused was acquitted by the court.

In August last year, Sukhpal had killed his brother Onkar Singh at their residence in Rurki village in Goraya. Onkar had sustained serious head injuries after his brother hit him with an iron rod. Following which a murder case was registered against Sukhpal at the Goraya police station.

Court trial ran for over a year. The main complainant Ujagar Singh, father of the deceased as well of the accused, who remained adamant on his stand about the murder, today backtracked in the court.

Dowry death case

In another court judgement in a dowry death, court today acquitted two brothers Rajinder Giri, alias Nikka, and Mahinder Giri and their mother Pasho Devi.
