PU student held for cheating during exam

The Chandigarh Police have booked a student of Panjab University on the charges of allegedly cheating during the first-year LLB exams here on Friday.

The Chandigarh Police have booked a student of Panjab University on the charges of allegedly cheating during the first-year LLB exams here on Friday. The student was identified as Randeep Singh.

Sources said Singh was residing at the boy’s hostel number-7 on the Panjab University campus.

Police sources said on Friday, when the LLB examination was being conducted, Singh was caught using his mobile phone in the examination centre. “The invigilator noticed that Singh was using a mobile phone in the examination centre and also used it for cheating,” said police sources.

The PU staff informed the local police about the incident and a case under Section 421 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against Randeep Singh at the Sector 11 police station.
