Abohar, December 17

Havildar Rajesh Kumar Enclave was inaugurated at the Military Station here in memory of Ashok Chakra recipient Hav Rajesh Kumar.

Havildar Rajesh Kumar of 11th Battalion, Rajputana Rifles, laid down his life battling terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. He was awarded Ashok Chakra on Republic Day in 2010. He belonged to the Ghatak team which was on a search mission in the dense forest of Kupwara district of J&K and killed three terrorists during operations on Aug 1, 2009.

Beeta Devi, his widow, was invited to inaugurate the enclave.

Amogh Division GOC Maj Gen Bipin Bakshi and other senior officials were present on the occasion. The enclave will have 288 residential accommodations. Solar panels, rain water conservation facility will be available.
