The shining bald pate does not symbolize boldness anymore. For, this new group of Roadies may light up the screen with their soft romantic looks, but they are as tough as they come

Out of the many possibilities that a journey holds for you, taking a different route, a new track with probably someone new around can be exciting. If you have walked the Roadies’ path before, this time you can expect to be accompanied by a new set of people with, of course, healthy tuft of hair styled with precision. Did anyone say bald and beautiful? Hope Raghu is listening.

Well, drop in to the twelfth season of MTV Roadies with Rannvijay, Vijender Singh, Karan Kundra and actress Esha Deol.

If, even for a split second, you though you’d not be hearing any beep or witness heated reactions, hold your thought and take a good look at the handsome boxer sitting in front you. Does he look like the guy you know from your school, with a naughty smile but at the same looking calm and composed? Well, boxer Vijender Singh is all these and a lot more.

Inside the ring

Vijender Singh has been a part of Roadies earlier as well, but this time he is part of the entire season. This good-looking sportsman was last seen in the Bollywood film, Fugly, which makes us wonder what is he doing in a reality show. “I have always liked this show. This is why I came on Roadies earlier as well. This time it is going to be different,” says Vijender, who is all set to tackle the punches thrown at him! “I know people are saying what is this man doing in Roadies, he should be doing boxing instead. I simply think, I have one life and I can’t live that according to what people say. I will do whatever I like, if it means doing Roadies now, I will.”

When it comes to adopting a strategy for the show, he is going to be himself. “On this show only you will see the real Vijender Singh, the Vijender who can get angry, who can laugh and cry.”

Do we expect more girls to audition for Roadies this time? “Well, I am going to select people who are strong, disciplined, good sportsmanship and yes good-looking,” he flashes one of his sweetest smiles!

He can do it

Here comes another good looking actor, Karan Kundra as one of the other gang leaders. Karan is known for the real and substance-based show Gumraah. This time however, he takes on a completely new role. For someone who is patient in his life, doesn’t come across as edgy, Karan will show a different side. “Not that I have made any special effort to sound edgy or I rehearse to get annoyed, Roadies is a show where the reality comes out. We come across contestants who bring the worst out of you. So, what do you do, you just react,” he says as a matter of fact. Being a gang leader on this show means a lot of other things as well.

Karan knows it well. “Contrary to any other shows that youngsters follow, Roadies is one show where I would be dealing with youngsters who are the future of my country,” he adds.

The VJ of all times

Rannvijay with his head firmly placed on his shoulders and with a perfectly well-balanced attitude has been part of the Roadies ever since he won the title. This man was seen as the nice guy who acted as a cushion between the bad man Raghu and the contestants. “It is amazing to see how each year we meet a different set of contestants, some are real, while some just want reactions from us,” shares the gang leader who sees the twelfth season of Roadies as a new spin.

“Each of gang leaders has brought in his unique flavour to the show which is fresh.”

A new inning

This, of course, is an addition that you have not expected. Actress Esha Deol returns to television as a gang leader for the twelfth season of MTV Roadies. Two years after her marriage, this beautiful actress has brought in her attitude and style to the show. This, of course, goes without saying that Esha loves the show. And there is something else that she has loved doing. “I have watched most of the films starring my father and mother,” she beams zeroing in on Chupke Chupke as her favourite film.

Esha, who is sorted and pretty quiet otherwise, will be seen in her real-self. “This is one show where you can’t fake, so it’s the real me in the show,” she shrugs her shoulders.

Karizmatic show

The show, in its twelfth season now, has Hero MotoCorp as the title sponsor. Hero MotoCorp MTV Roadies thus becomes an apt platform, being the most popular youth reality show. This year the contestants will ride a Karizma ZMR, the most sought-after sports bike in India because of its advanced technology and superior styling.
