The CBI on Thursday filed a charge-sheet against BJD MLA Pravat Tripathy, former advocate general of Odisha Asok Mohanty among 16 persons and seven companies in connection with its probe in a chit fund scam case. The agency charged them for alleged criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery, violation of Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act among others. PTI

Mehta’s canvas sold for Rs 15 cr
Renowned artist Tyeb Mehta's untitled canvas depicting a falling bull today got sold for a whopping Rs 15 crore at the second edition of Indian art auction held by the Christie's on Thursday. The Mehta canvas, dating back to 1999, got picked up through an online bid from New York. PTI

29 kids taken ill in UP
At least 29 children were admitted to a hospital after they consumed poisonous Jatropha fruits. The incident took place on Wednesday at Ishwarpur Pawni village in the Atraulia area when the children, aged between 5 and 16, ate Jatropha fruits. They started vomiting and complained of uneasiness, District Chief Medical Officer VB Singh said. PTI
