The office of the new sub-tehsil at Gangath in Indora Assembly segment in Nurpur subdivision was opened here today.
It was inaugurated by local MLA Manohar Dhiman and Kangra Deputy Commissioner C Palrasu presided over the inaugural ceremony.
Addressing a gathering, the MLA said this sub-tehsil had incoporated eight patwar circles of Charor, Sahora, Bhanuri, Denkwan, Gadwal, Sukhar, Lodhwan and Gangath in Nurpur tehsil and two patwar circles Dhiala and Kangreri in Indora tehsil.
He said this office would benefit a populace of 40,000 of 17 gram panchayats of Indora and four panchayats of Nurpur Assembly segments. He said the Virbhadra Singh government had upgraded six government high schools to senior secondary level, three middle schools to high school and opened a primary health centre and one ayurvedic dispensary in Indora Assembly constituency.
C Palrasu said the requisite staff and office infrastructure would be provided in the new sub-tehsil so that it could run smoothly.
