20 booked for disrupting traffic

The police have booked 20 persons for blocking the National Highway in the Salem Tabri area yesterday.

Ludhiana, December 19
The police have booked 20 persons for blocking the National Highway in the Salem Tabri area yesterday. Following the murder of a 52-year-old woman at Vaishno Devi Colony  on December 17, the victim’s kin blocked traffic. The police have also booked 15 others.  The protesters were demanding the arrest of the murder accused.
 
35 vehicles challaned
The police today challaned 35 vehicles. Cars having blue beacon atop were also challaned. Officials  impounded one vehicle and three motorcycles.    The naka was set up outside Grand Walk Shopping Mall at Ferozepur Road.  The police issued challans for black films, overspeeding and rash driving.
