Chief Minister Harish Rawat today assured representatives of the Buxa tribal community of their uplift and development.
The Chief Minister announced to provide facilities, sops, social schemes and other aids to the Buxa tribal community people as being provided to BPL families.
Addressing a cultural festival at Lal Dhang tehsil of Haridwar district, the Chief Minister said the state government was serious over bringing the Buxa tribals into the mainstream.
He announced building of a community hall at Dehradun and also Eklavya Residential School in the state in the near future.
For the residential school, he sought a proposal from Buxa community representatives for the desired place.
Rawat also directed education department officials to pave the way for an all Girls Industrial Training Institute (ITI) for tje Buxa community which should be established by upgrading a school being run for the community students only.
Buxa community national president Darshan Lal, former legislator Ambrish Kumar, Congress leader Purushottam Sharma, District Magistrate D Senthyl Pendiyan, SSP Sweety Aggarwal were present at the function.
