Bhopal, December 11
Nearly 20 persons were injured after two groups belonging to a minority community clashed over a trivial matter in the Karond area of the city. The mob set ablaze four houses and a number of vehicles, a senior official said.
Twenty persons suffered injuries, said Bhopal Collector Nishant Warwade said.
The groups clashed last night over a minor dispute related to a religious place.
While the police pacified the two sides last night, the groups again clashed this morning, pelting stones and setting four houses on fire. They also torched vehicles, including a dozen two-wheelers in the area, he said. Police lobbed several rounds of teargas shells and cane-charged those indulging in violence. — PTI
