Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today criticised the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for not keeping poll promises made to the people of Assam and for shedding crocodile’s tears.

“The BJP and Narendra Modi made tall promises to people of Assam before the last Lok Sabha election and now it has become apparent that the BJP and its leader have forgotten all promises of development of Assam,” Gogoi said.

“While ‘acche din’ (good days) promised by the BJP have remained a distant dream, I am sensing ‘kharab din’ (bad days) ahead for the people of Assam pointing out that while there had not been any new scheme for development of the state, the Centre had resorted to pruning benefits of even some of the existing schemes,” Gogoi said.
