Jammu, December 16
The Jammu and Kashmir Movement for Peace, Equality and Justice today hailed the High Court directive restraining the functioning of the chairman of the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE).
The body, in a statement, also said it has sought cognisance to the “shady role” of the School Education Minister in the appointment process.
“It is quite shocking on part of the so called civil society of the state that was never serious to check the misdeeds of ministers in charge since the last 18 years,” the statement said.
The group further claimed that the appointment of Prof Nutan as the J&K Board of School Education chairman had also put a question mark on the search committees of the state government and the autonomous functioning of the BOSE.
“The Chief Minister’s recent disclosure about his helplessness for action against the concerned culprit ministers of the Congress party must be seen as an insult of his high ranked constitutional post,” the body said.
It alleged that corrupt practices by the authorities concerned was responsible for the recently exposed foul play in the teacher training courses like the BEd and the Elementary Teacher Training.
The body also said the investigating agencies of the state seemed reluctant to probe the misdeeds.
