Doda, December 16

Relatives of a pregnant woman, who allegedly died due to doctor’s negligence at District Hospital in Kishtwar, held a protest outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kishtwar today.

Darshla Devi (25), wife of Shiv Kumar of Tagood Chatroo, died during the operation in the district hospital last evening. Alleging that doctor’s negligence led to the woman’s death, the victim’s family demanded a magisterial probe into the incident and transfer of the doctor.

Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Javed Khan said, “Relatives of the victim demanded a magisterial probe and transfer of the doctor. We have ordered a magisterial inquiry into this incident.”

The Kishtwar Chief Medical Officer said, “A magisterial inquiry has already been ordered into the incident and the department will conduct an internal inquiry by constituting a special team of experts from outside the district.” — TNS
