Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal today refuted the allegation that Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur had met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on the alleged role of Bikram Majithia in the multi-crore synthetic drug racket.

Punjab Congress president Partap Bajwa had alleged that Jaitley had gone soft on the matter following a meeting with Harsimrat.

“Harsimrat has not met Jaitley on the issue. It is a false propaganda by the state Congress chief,” Sukhbir said during his visit to the city for the inauguration of the World Kabaddi Cup. Bajwa had alleged that the ED had not been summoning Majithia even after reports that the investigating agency had substantial reason to summon the state Revenue Minister.

On a financial package for the state, the Deputy CM said it had been just six months since the new government was formed at the Centre. “We will get everything we have asked for in the due course. We have been holding meetings with Jaitley on the matter”. Prior to the sports event, Sukhbir paid obeisance at Shani Mandir near Phillaur.
