NC working president Omar Abdullah said on Monday that people in the Valley had refused to buy the so-called false promises of the BJP and rejected its doublespeak. He said BJP leader Arun Jaitley had conceded that his party would not form the next government in the state.

“When this is the ground reality, people of Jammu have to exhibit wisdom to support the NC and its candidates. It should be able to form the government and carry forward its agenda of inclusive and holistic development along with peace and tranquillity in the state,” he said.

The Chief Minister appealed to people to vote in great numbers in favour of the NC to script the prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. He was addressing an election rally in the Basholi area of Kathua district organised in support of party candidate Devender Singh Bindu.

Omar said the NC was the only party which represented the aspirations of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions and sub-regions, besides all sections of society. —TNS
