Two coffee-table books, written by Aneesh Bhanot, were released by the chief guest Kanta Saroop Krishen in Chandigarh on Monday. While the book on ‘Inspiring Stories of Successful Personalities’ profiles 17 personalities, the second book ‘Chandigarh and its Leading Personalities Vol. IV’ features 48 personalities from a cross-section of society, including social activists, artists, architects, doctors, administrators, entrepreneurs, sportsmen, industrialists et al. On the occasion, Kanta Saroop Krishen recounted her past over 50 years that she devoted to ensuring the success of the voluntary blood donation movement in India.
According to Aneesh Bhanot, the author, “The ‘Inspiring Stories…’ coffee-table book is a realisation of my dream to take a close look at the successful lives of eminent personalities of Tricity. Their stories are highly inspirational and after reading them, I hope the younger generation will be motivated and emulate their success mantras.” The book is dedicated to Kanta Saroop Krishen, Nek Chand and Neerja Bhanot, and features eminent personalities like Dr Amod Gupta, Dr TS Mahant, Harold Carver, Manmohan Lal Sarin, Namita Singh, Parveen Kumar Gupta, Dr Harsimran Singh, Dr Sanand Bag, Alok Kumar, Ranjan Lakhanpal, Raman Walia, Sunil Gupta, Dr RK Jaswal and Manmohan Khanna.
Talking about the other book, ‘Chandigarh and its Leading Personalities Vol. IV’, Bhanot said, “We have profiled over 450 personalities in the various volumes till now. The earlier volumes have been a major success too.” - TNS
