The three-day Shaheedi Jor Mela started with a “nagar kirtan” in Ropar today. The religious procession started from Gurdwara Sri Gurugadh Sahib at Sadavrat, passed through various localities of the town, including Giani Zail Singh Nagar and College Road, before concluding at Gurdwara Bhattha Sahib.
Akhand Path started at Gurdwara Bhatha Sahib in the morning and bhog will be performed on Friday. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Avtar Singh Makkar, state Education Minister Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema and local MP Prem Singh Chandumajra will address a conference at Gurdwara Bhatha Sahib tomorrow.
