4 held in separate incidents; arms, narcotics, stolen vehicles seized

The police have arrested three persons for possessing arms and stealing vehicles from various parts of the holy city.

The police have arrested three persons for possessing arms and stealing vehicles from various parts of the holy city.

Those arrested were identified as Robin Masih of Kila Desa Singh, Batala, and Shubham Malhotra, Manoj Kumar of B R Ambedkar Colony, located outside the Gillwali gate area.

The police have confiscated a .12 bore pistol, 30 live cartridges and 600gm of narcotic powder from their possession. Two stolen motorcycles were also recovered after their interrogation.

Police Commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh today said Robin was arrested from near Dera Baba Maghi Shah, Gujjarpura area, with 10 live cartridges and a case under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC and 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against him at Division C police station. A stolen motorcycle (PB-46-B-6633) was recovered from his posession.

Similarly, Shubham and Manoj were held from near Gian Ashram School. Besides, 300gm narcotic powder, the police have also recovered a pistol and 10 live cartridges from Manoj. 10 live rounds were also confiscated from Shubham. A motorcycle bearing number PB-46-P-6712 was also impounded by the police. A case under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC, 22 of the NDPS Act and 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against them.

Aulakh said they were brought on police remand and further interrogation was underway.

Meanwhile, the Sultanwind police also arrested Gobind Singh of Chabba for allegedly stealing vehicles. A stolen motorcycle bearing number PB-46-K-1997 was recovered from his possession.
