Doon hospital awaits release of third installment

The Doon Hospital again awaits the release of the third installment from the annual budget sanctioned to the tune of Rs 11.26 crore from the Directorate of Health and Medical.

The hospital authorities have already exhausted Rs 3 crore received as part of the second installment in October. The delay in the release of installments since the beginning of the year has led to mounting bills.

The hospital is saddled with overrunning bills amounting to Rs 1 crore to be paid to the supplier of general medicines, Rs 40 lakh to the caterer providing food under the diet plan and Rs 35 lakh monthly salary bills of the contractual staff.

Out of the Rs 11.26 crore sanctioned as budget for the Doon Hospital for this fiscal, the hospital has received Rs 5.05. It now awaits the release of Rs 4 crore for the payment of the bills.
