BSF jurisdiction row: Convey Punjab government’s objection to Centre: SAD to CM Channi

Amritsar, October 26

SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal today asked CM Charanjit Singh Channi to convey the state government’s objection of the Centre’s decision to increase the jurisdiction of the Border Security Force (BSF) immediately, instead of making hollow statements on the issue.

He said the CM was still contemplating on what to do on the issue. “Punjabis expect their CM to tell the Centre unequivocally that its decision was unacceptable. The decision impinges on the rights of the state and strikes at the core of the state’s federal rights,” he said. — TNS
