Found
The police on Thursday found Rameshwar, who was allegedly kidnapped from the local Civil Hospital. He had gone there to see his family members who had been injured in a clash at Sayyedwala village.

Electric shock
Surjeet Singh, a lamberdar, of Veroke village in the district, was electrocuted on Saturday when he touched an electric wire while repairing a ceiling fan.
Raid
The Excise and Taxation Department, and the police, on Friday conducted a raid at the house of Paramjit Singh of Chand Nawan village under Bagha Purana police station in the district and seized three working stills and a huge quantity of lahan and illicit liquor from him. The police has arrested four persons in this connection.
Seized
Officers of the Excise Department on Friday impounded a Sumo jeep carrying 12 illicit bottles of liquor at Nihalsinghawala village under Badhni Kalan police station. The driver, Rajinder Kumar of Sarabha Nagar,
TopLudhiana has been arrested.
Looted
Armed men on Friday allegedly looted Rs 6000 and a large number of bottles of liquor from a liquor shop on the Bagha Purana- Mudki road.

Amarnath yatra: The Punjab Shiv Sena has condemned the ban imposed by the Harkat-Ul- Mujahideen, a Pakistan based militant outfit, on the Amarnath yatra. State Shiv Sena president Vijay Kapoor said protection to the yatris would be ensured.

Dead
A local advocate, Ravi Mahajan (42), died in an accident near Gurdaspur on Friday.
Rally
Teachers of three local colleges held a rally at Simla Pahari on Saturday in which they resolved to implement the call of "Delhi chalo on July 21 and holding of campus rallies on August 4.

Life saving equipment
The M.L. Markan Memorial Charitable Trust on Saturday donated life saving equipment worth Rs 1.40 lakh to the cardiology unit of the local government Rajindra Hospital on the second death anniversary of Mr Markan. Faulty bills
Resentment prevails among residents of the district against the HSEB authorities for reportedly issuing faulty computerised electricity bills.
Murder
Luxmi Bai of Chaharwala village was allegedly murdered by her son Devi Lal at her house on Friday. According to sources she had objected to her son's drinking habit. The police has registered a case under Section 302 IPC, . No arrest has been made so far.
Arrested
Vidya Sagar of Mandi Dabwali and five of his relatives were arrested and a case registered against them on charges of harassment and victimisation of his wife, Ms Sheela Devi. She alleged that she was being tortured for more dowry. The accused were remanded in police custody on Friday.
Succumbs
An girl of Malekan village succumbed to her injuries at the local Civil Hospital here on Friday. According to sources, she was allegedly molested and murdered by a man of the same village. A case has been registered.
Killed
Gurtej Singh (26) of Odhan village was allegedly killed and another injured when a truck collided with their jeep near Savant Khera village on Friday. The truck driver has absconded.

Plantation
As many as 100 saplings were planted at Karsan village by members of the Lions Club Greater Chandigarh, on Sunday.

Blood donation
As many as 95 persons donated blood at a camp organised by the management of a hotel here on Sunday. The blood collected at the camp will be used for thalassemic patients of the Children Welfare Association of PGI, said a hotel spokesman.

Employees of the Department of Posts staged a dharna in front of the main post office and blocked the traffic here on Saturday in support of their demands.
Gate meeting
The local Himachal Pradesh PWD Ministerial Staff Association held a gate meeting in front of its office on Friday and urged the BJP government to accept its pending demands.
Prohibitory orders
The Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Mr R.C. Kapil, has passed an order prohibiting the carrying of arms and ammunition in the Thana Kot area in the district from July 23 to August 4 in view of the Sharwan Ashtami fair at Naina Devi. He has also banned the offering of coconuts and prasad during the fair.
