The local police has arrested Chander Mohan of Jugial village and recovered a scooter from his possession which was stolen on Wednesday.

Died
Shyama (20) died of burn injuries in the Ajit Nagar locality of the city on Tuesday. The police has registered a case against Shyama's husband Jaipal, father-in-law, Sukhdev Ram, mother-in-law, Vimla, sister-in-law, Bholi and brother-in-law, Mohan Lal.

PHILLAUR
Murder
Raju, alias Chhotu, was allegedly murdered with a sharpedged weapon by his friend, Radhey Shyam, at Paddi Kamal village in Phillaur subdivision on Tuesday. According to the police, a dispute over money was said to be the cause of the crime.
Patron
The Punjab unit of the Hindu Shiv Sena at a meeting on Wednesday appointed Swami Pushpinder Swaroop as its patron.

Dharna
The ministerial staff of the revenue, roadways, irrigation, health and other departments on Wednesday organised a dharna on the second day of a two-day strike call in the local SDM Court complex in support of their demands.

Celebrated
Artistes of All India Radio, Rohtak, and students of local educational institutions celebrated the first anniversary of this district at local Grain Market on Wednesday. The Deputy Commissioner said the administration had been concentrating on allround development of the district.

Inaugurated
Mr Manohar Lal, organising secretary of the Haryana unit of the BJP, inaugurated the district office of the party at Guru Jhambeshwar Market here on Tuesday. Mr Shrinivas Goyal, district president, BJP, presided over the function.


JIND
Murdered
Karambir, a farmer, has been allegedly murdered at Thua village. The police has registered a case under Sections 302 and 34 IPC.
Accident
One person was killed and four others were injured when the jeep in which they were travelling was hit by a truck on the Jind-Bhiwani road on Wednesday. The injured have been admitted to the local General Hospital. In another accident on the Jind-Safidon road a person was killed when a mini truck in which he was travelling overturned on Wednesday.

SONEPAT
Killed
Satbir (45) of Garhwal village was run over and killed by a train, 10 km from here, on Wednesday, while crossing a railway track.
Suicide cases
Jagmati (30) committed suicide by setting herself on fire at her house in Bhatgaon village on Wednesday. In another incident Rajpal (27) of Palra village and Meena (29) of Jiwan Vihar committed suicide by taking poison.
Found dead
Bohti (80) was reportedly found dead in her house at West Ram Nagar here on Wednesday. According to the police, she was living in a rented house.

Law and order
Swami Krishnand, president, All-India Mahasangh, on Thursday urged the Haryana Government to take immediate measures to check the deteriorating law and order situation in the town. The Swami said he had brought various incidents to the notice of state's Home Minister Mani Ram Godara, but no steps had been taken in this direction.
