|BJP expels 11 rebels
NAGPUR, Aug 28 (PTI) The Maharashtra unit of the BJP has expelled 11 persons, including a member of the dissolved Assembly, from the party for six years for filing nomination papers against the official candidates. The rebel candidates, including Mr Bhola Badhel an MLA in the dissolved Assembly were expelled by state unit president Suryabhan Wahdane, BJP spokesman Anil Sole said here today. He said the rebel candidates would not in any way affect the prospects of the Sena-BJP candidates.

DHAKA, Aug 28 (PTI) The Bangladesh Government has sounded an alert across the country in view of apprehension of subversive activities by Pakistans Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI). The alert has been issued in a circular by the central office of the special branch of the police on the basis of a "secret report" of the Home Ministry. The circular has asked the security agencies to remain alert and beef up security at important establishments.
