World Cup ’99 — India’s dream

Welcome to the World Cup ’99,

Where all teams are very fine.

To start with our Indian team,

Where Sachin is the brightest beam.

Saurav is a hardy player,

Anil too gets a share.

Azhar is leading the leading side,

Where Ajay gets a good ride.

When Nayan eyes the ball,

The wicket has to fall.

When Srinath bowls a good one,

Batsmen miss a run.

When Dravid plays the game nice,

The other team has to pay the price.

Everybody is scared of Sachin’s hits,

As he quashes their hopes to bits.

Akarm believes his team is the best,

Come down you need some rest.

Best of luck to the Indian team,

99-World Cup is India’s Dream.

— Nishima Wangoo

Flowers

The fragrance that permeates the environment,

The panoramic view that brings contentment,

Vibrant colours that sprinkle sanctity,

Is it a hoax or a reality?

Dazzled by the kaleidoscopic view,

Something that always seems unique and new,

What a charisma of nature,

Beautifying the natural infrastructure,

Nurtured by nature, beheaded by humanity,

Is there anything to match this cruelity?

Endeavouring to survive even for a while;

Can’t we show appreciation only with a smile?

— Apoorv Pandhi

Pollution

People are aware of the ozone layer,

But still they don’t care.

Some people smoke,

And make everybody choke.

Industries create so much air pollution,

And for that we ought to find a solution.

Vehicles pollute the clean air,

And not a thought people spare.

People should also try to save fuel,

And that should be made a rule.
