Aug 20 — Resentment prevails among students of two private dental colleges here — BJS Dental College and CDC — over the alleged discrimination in certain examination rules. Students and their parents alleged that there is disparity in the examination rules being followed by Baba Farid University of Medical Sciences with regard to these two colleges and other medical education institutions in the state.
They alleged that while in all other dental colleges in the state, students securing 50 per cent marks together in written and practical examinations were declared pass, in these two colleges, some examinees of had been failed as they did not secure 50 per cent marks separately in the written and practical exams. Many students whose combined score made up to 50 per cent had been declared failed, they said.
Students have also written to the Vice-Chancellor, seeking his clarification on this count.
