JALANDHAR, Aug 31 — The police has foiled a conspiracy to cause bomb explosions in the state with the arrest of a Babbar Khalsa terrorist along with a consignment of explosives .
Mr Gaurav Yadav, SSP said here today that Darshan Singh, a foreign-based terrorist of Babbar Khalsa, was arrested last evening from Kishangarh Adda while he was coming on a scooter, along with 3 kg of PFTN explosive, ABCD timer, four electrical detonators and four booby trap gauges with valves.
Mr Yadav further said that Darshan Singh, hailing from Nakodar confessed to the involvement of UK and Germany-based terrorist leaders and Pakistan-based ISI-sponsored terrorist leaders to revive terrorism in Punjab by causing bomb explosions at public places.
Darshan Singh further confessed that recently a joint action committee was formed in Germany to coordinate the activities of all major terrorist organisations abroad. Gurdial Singh Lalli of the ISYF, Resham Singh of Babbar Khalsa and Harmeet Singh of Kamagata Maru Dal of Khalistan were the ring leaders of this committee.
The terrorist outfits owing allegiance to this committee were instrumental in motivating many Punjab youths who had gone abroad into terrorist activities and were then sent back with the allurement of jobs and money if they performed some action.
He further said the Bhogpur police received secret information that Darshan Singh of Babbar Khalsa came back to India on a fake British passport last year to carry out bomb explosions in the state. Darshan Singh received a consignment of explosives at a pre-selected point on the Jalandhar-Pathankot road and he was to store these explosives till further instructions. An action group was to contact him and there were plans to cause widescale disruptive activities at public places and explosions near vital installations, the police said.
