Rainfall: Rain or thunder showers have occurred at isolated places in west Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose markedly in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Depatures: They were appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41.3C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 17.4C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 8: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
