Chhota Rajan man dies in encounter
Mumbai, October 7
A gangster owing allegiance to the underworld don Chhota Rajan was killed in a police encounter in north Mumbai on Sunday the police said. Receiving a tip-off that Annu Naresh Shridar Shetty, who had planned to kill a businessman, was coming to Dahisar along with a companion for the purpose, the police laid a trap near a hotel on the Western Express highway. The gangsters who arrived at 1.15 a.m., were asked to surrender. However, Shetty opened fire, which was retaliated by the police, leaving the gangster seriously injured in the ensuing encounter.
