Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in east Rajasthan and at isolated places in west Rajasthan. Light rain has also occurred at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms. are: Jammu and Kashmir: Quazigund 2 and Pahalgam and Srinagar 1 each, East Rajasthan: Ajmer and Sawai Madhopur 1 each and West Rajasthan: Barmer and Jodhpur 1 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana and east Rajasthan, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.2C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 18.4C recorded at Amritsar(Punjab) and Sarsawa (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 14: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region.
