Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal, rose in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: These were above normal in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperatures in the region was 37.2C recorded at Jaisalmer, (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: These were below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 13.7C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 17: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
