Modi expands Cabinet
Gandhinagar, October 17
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expanded his 10-day-old Council of Ministers inducting 29 new ministers — two of Cabinet rank and 27 Ministers of State — including co-accused in the 1985 riots case Ashok Bhatt. Mr Bhatt’s induction was keenly awaited, especially since the rehabilitation of Mr Harin Pathak at the Centre on Monday. Both were recently cleared by a Gujarat court. Besides Mr Bhatt, the other Cabinet member in the two-tier Modi Ministry is Mr Babubhai Bokhiria. UNI
