Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.9C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 13.2C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 22: Weather will be mainly dry in the region.
