Shaggy got his name from toon serial

SHAGGY'S was born in Kingston, Jamaica on October 22, 1968. As a kid, his friends nicknamed him ‘Shaggy’ after the live-wire character from the cartoon ‘Scooby Doo.’ Shaggy’s "Oh Carolina" in 1993 was his first major hit around the world, which took him on the top position. Boombastic. His latest, 13 tracks Hot Shot released on August 8, 2000, proves Shaggy is a master of many styles, and with the popularity of this album Shaggy has become internationally famous name. His other latest hits are Hope featured in the Kevin Costner film "For The Love Of The Game", Luv Me, Luv Me duet with Janet Jackson for the soundtrack of "How Stella Got Her Groove Back". Shaggy enjoys a mass appeal and is a rage with those who enjoy R&B-based pop.
